Bilco Announces Management Succession Plan & New President

Tom Crowley, formerly vice president, sales and marketing, has been appointed president of the company and will take over the leadership position from the third generation of Lyons family management effective immediately.

September 11, 2014

The Bilco Co., a manufacturer of specialty access and security products, announced a new management succession plan. Robert J. Lyons, Jr. will remain active in the organization in his new role as chairman and CEO, and Roger Joyce will transition to vice chairman & executive vice president. Tom Crowley, formerly vice president, sales and marketing, has been appointed president of the company and will take over the leadership position from the third generation of Lyons family management effective immediately.

Prior to joining Bilco, Crowley served as president of IDS Inc., an underground utility placement company in Bradenton, Fla. He also spent 19 years at Hilti, Inc., where he served in various sales and marketing roles and lived and worked overseas for a number of years. As Hilti’s vice president of sales, Crowley spent two years in Yokohama, Japan and was based in Hong Kong prior to that in a regional management position.

As the new president of Bilco, Crowley will lead and manage a newly promoted team of senior managers, all of whom have many years of experience with Bilco. In addition to Crowley’s appointment, the company has announced a number of other internal leadership promotions as a part of the management succession plan. Robert Santoro will now serve as executive vice president and transition CFO responsibilities to Pamela Griffin, a Lyons family member.

Under the same family ownership and management since it began in 1926, The Bilco Company began as a neighborhood iron shop when George W. Lyons, Sr. started The Builders Iron Company in New Haven, Conn. It has since grown into an ISO 9001-certified company with multiple manufacturing facilities and worldwide sales and distribution. PR
