The remodeling industry has had one heck of a year, and the phones just keep ringing. Now, it's time for successful remodelers and home improvement professionals to turn their attention away from leads and toward operational excellence to grow post-pandemic, according to host Mark Richardson.
"The [remodelers] that are really out there doing well aren't the ones getting the phones to ring or selling, but the ones with operational excellence," Richardson says.
Richardson talks about three themes: how you make your money on what you produce, not what you sell; why production challenges often come on the front end, not production; and how the real work happens after the sale and the deal is closed.
"If you have the right mindset, then you can put the strategies in place and become operationally excellence, but if you don't have the right beliefs upfront and believe it's all about the sale, then you will probably continue to fall short and be challenged," Richardson says. "In my opinion, there will be a lot of people out there who will have record sales, however, not record profits."
