Best practice: An important lesson in Rob’s life came from his favorite architecture professor. She told each person in the class to raise their little finger and then said, “See that pinky? Good! Every single person on your jobsite will have more experience in that finger than you will in your whole body when you graduate.” The concept stuck with him, and today he sees working collaboratively with tradespeople as one of the keys to his success. The unique and ambitious features that Rob designs, whether it’s a staircase or a fireplace, are often the result of his ability to respectfully listen to feedback and then explain his vision in a way that inspires the people around him toward true teamwork.
