Design Manager

Professional accomplishment: Becoming a Design Manager has allowed me to focus more on training our design team and helping lead them throughout their career. I’ve had people who weren’t so helpful and I had to figure things out on my own.
I don’t want the designers here to ever go through something without having someone else to lean on. I hope that through my management style, I can help others feel proud of who they are as well.
Best business innovation: I created a weekly meeting for our designers called Designer Role Play. I want to ensure that my team is comfortable with bringing issues or challenges to the forefront, and this meeting is a place to work through any of those challenges together.
I like to have an area of focus each week for a different training session while also inviting specific presenters to train us within their area of expertise. For example, we may bring in our electricians or production team members. My goal with Designer Role Play is to build confidence in our designers, allowing them to be comfortable in any situation.
