Chief Operating Officer
CQC Home
Durham, N.C.
Projected 2023 Revenue: $16 million
Best business accomplishment: I invented a handful of new operational approaches, such as the PD/PM System, that helped take CQC from netting 2% profit on $8 million in revenue to netting 15% profit on $12 million in only six months.
The PD/PM system eliminates the salesman role and essentially turns project directors into mini business owners. We hire specifically for entrepreneurial traits for that role.
Advice for young professionals: You can be either a technician or a businessman. The technician gets to spend his time on his tools and plan building. The businessman’s craft is numbers and management.
Many owners hit a wall because they’re trying to be both. My business partner and I have formed this amazing dream team where he’s a technician but has learned to be a businessman. And I’m a business guy that’s learned how to read plans.
