Management style: I base it on from when I was in the field and how I wanted to be treated. I treat my guys that way, I treat them with respect, I treat all my trades, everyone I deal with, with respect. I don’t ask people to do things that I wouldn’t do myself. I had a couple of managers when I was in the field that were micromanagers. I give my guys tasks, and I expect those tasks to be done. I let them do their thing, I don’t get on top of them.

On being a company top performer: A lot of that goes into me being able to manage many projects at one time and effectively. One of the big things is upfront planning, being extremely detailed with things. A lot of being able to manage it too is having a good team. I try to make it more personal with my clients. I don’t treat it as just a working relationship. And setting expectations of when I’ll be on sites, when I’ll be able to communicate with clients and not be able to communicate, and hitting things head on when they come up. I don’t let them linger, I just get it done. I correct the problem.
