Did you miss the 2020 Women in Residential Construction Conference? With WIRC On-Demand, remodelers can catch all of this year’s inspiring speakers and keynotes, strategy sessions, and lively roundtables.

Although it is nearly impossible to capture the energy of an in-person event, the conference succeeded in bringing together over 500 women in construction for the three-day, online event. Attendees enjoyed educational events, reconnecting with peers, and exchanging creative solutions to everyday business challenges. The conference even had happy hours and interactive events like a guided wine tasting.

Elevate your business and refresh your culture

Those who register for WIRC On-Demand will receive unlimited access to all 28 videos from the conference’s sessions. Standout sessions include:

  •  “Choosing to Have Joy in Your Life,” a transformative journey with Abby Mirata, founder of Kyndly
  • “Is your company vision as clear to the team as your blueprints?” a session where Sarah Henry, owner of Gaspar’s, gives tips on strengthening your communication strategies with your team
  • “The House That SHE Built,” a roundtable discussion with an all-female crew building the first new home built exclusively by women
  • ...and a keynote address by Sheryl Palmer, the chairman and CEO of Taylor Morrison, a building behemoth

A time to rally as women's unemployment number soars

The context of the 2020 WIRC Conference makes the conference even more crucial as women face tough choices: continue their career, or drop out for childcare or other pandemic-related conflicts. “The numbers are really concerning,” Palmer says in her keynote. “One-in-four women are considering leaving the workforce or changing to something that is more manageable in this environment.”

Since the conference ended, unemployment numbers haven’t gotten better. Of the 346,000 workers lost in January of 2021, 80% of them were women, according to Forbes. In the sessions, industry experts share marketing strategies, leadership skills, and culture-changing outlooks that can help remodeling businesses succeed even in these trying times.
