Marvin Windows and Doors has been named a winner in the 2014 Minnesota Business Ethics Award (MBEA). Marvin received this honor for exemplifying high standards of ethical conduct in the workplace, the marketplace and the community.
Now in its fifteenth year, the MBEA honors Minnesota businesses that act in an ethical manner in regards to their business practices. Eligible businesses must be nominated, and provide comprehensive information about their ethics plan, as well as specific examples of how they have put their ethics plan into action.
Marvin was nominated and won in the large company category (more than 500 employees), for its sustained commitment to the community, employees and stakeholders. One judge commented that at Marvin, “it is apparent that values are baked into the business model. They stand behind what they do and are a company that walks the talk.”
A maker of premier window and door products, the company is in its fourth generation of family ownership, headquartered in Warroad, Minn., with factories across the U.S. Marvin received the MBEA at the May 14 Awards luncheon at the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis.
Christine Marvin, director of marketing, accepted the award on behalf of Marvin and commented, “Doing the right thing no matter what is foundational to a business such as ours—it is at the core of everything we do—and it has helped guide our company through the good times and helped us navigate through some of the tougher times. It is the mantra that is lived out by each and every employee of Marvin at every level of the organization. It can be seen in every decision that we make as a company.”
