West Shore Home Enters Minneapolis Market

The home improvement firm targets the Twin Cities, a metro where nearly two-thirds of the housing stock predates 1970.

West Shore Home announced Aug. 17 that it's entering the Minneapolis market. The home improvement company offers bathroom remodeling and window, door, and flooring replacement services.

A news release explained that West Shore Home’s expansion into the Twin Cities will address what it said was a “significant gap” in the market left by the recent departure of a major local provider. It also noted that the large metro area has nearly 3.76 million residents, and many homeowners continue to renovate rather than relocate.

The release noted that the housing stock in Minneapolis is among the oldest in the country, with approximately 64% of homes built before 1970 and more than 42% predating 1939. Homes in the city sell at a median price of $365,000 and move in just 21 days on average, reflecting sustained demand in a market where inventory remains limited. Across the broader Twin Cities area, the median sale price reached $390,000, up 2.1% year over year.

“Minneapolis has been on our radar for some time,” said B.J. Werzyn, founder and CEO of West Shore Home. “The housing stock is aging, homeowners are actively investing in their properties, and the market lost a significant remodeling presence last year.”

The company’s headquarters are in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and it operates in more than 40 cities and 27 states.
