Best Practice: Too many companies think that financing is only an accounting function, Linfoot says. At Dreamstyle, it’s woven throughout the fabric of multiple departments. Each new sales rep and designer receives training in finance, which allows them to provide better customer service. Linfoot also brings a fresh mindset to the process itself. Rather than assuming that a customer wants a fixed rate, or “12 months same as cash,” she carefully reviews their financial profile and acts as a consultant, developing a package that best suits their needs. This has worked so well that lenders have approached Linfoot for advice on new financing options.
