Business approach: One successful thing we do is focus on clarity. Most of our clients have not gone through an extensive remodeling project. We do this for a job, so we know there’s lots of moving parts, but it’s important on the clients’ end to provide a clear path from the first meeting to completion. One example, which is helpful for myself, is never leaving meetings open-ended.
Instead of closing a meeting with, “I’ll get back to you,” I put the next touchpoint on our schedule so there’s a date when the client knows I’ll be in touch. Clients are making a big financial and time investment. Now the client won’t be clouding my schedule with questions on next steps, they’ll know when and what to expect.
