Apollo Composite Decking
Apollo is one of our favorite decking products
right now, and I’ve used it for about five years. It’s a synthetic material but made out of recycled products, such as bamboo and plastic resins and binders.
For a composite material, it’s got a very nice clean edge. This looks much cleaner and modern because it lacks a heavy round-over on the edges that other composites offer. It’s good for clients looking for a more contemporary selection. Apollo decking also features an extruded beam, which makes it more rigid. This allows us to span over our joist without it fluctuating as easily.
Apollo also offers a grooved option for the top, making it slip-resistant, which is good for when we do staircases. Plus, the product has a groove for hidden fasteners and fascia panels for trimming on the outside of the deck. It also comes with a great color selection and good-looking finishes.
We don’t want to pick on other products, but this is much more scratch-resistant. I would put this on my deck with my big dog, and it will last a lot longer because Apollo doesn’t show scratches easily.
We’ve also worked with synthetic products that have warnings for installing in front of glass because of the UV light, this doesn’t have that problem. It also offers a good warranty.
