Panasonic
Cosmos Healthy Home System by Panasonic is the first connected healthy home system that helps remodelers address homeowners’ biggest concern: their family’s health. The system monitors indoor air quality and manages four harmful indoor toxins such as volatile organic compounds, fine particulate matter, carbon dioxide, and humidity. If unhealthy air is detected, sensors automatically activate the system to return air to healthy levels. Cosmos is the only system that effectively combines all of the home’s ventilation fans, Panasonic says.
Fantech
Fantech expanded its HERO residential filtration line with the HERO HS300 last year. The unit offers two-stage filtration: a pre-filter with carbon and a HEPA filter. Together they remove pollutants, allergens, odors, viruses and more throughout the home. The filter removes 99.97% of particles of 0.3 microns and larger from air circulating indoors, according to the company. The HERO HS300 has an insulated cabinet for quieter operation and offers variable speeds of 200 cfm and 300 cfm.
Lennox Industries
Lennox Industries announced updates to its whole-home heating and cooling system last year. Noting that homeowners’ HVAC priorities have been affected by more time spent indoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company updated its Ultimate Comfort System accordingly. The variable-capacity gas furnace, heat pump and air conditioner keep air continuously circulating, making adjustments as needed.
LG
More quiet-operating window and portable air conditioners were added to the residential air care portfolio of LG Electronics USA last year. They offer easy-to-operate smart connectivity and low-decibel operation. The LG Dual Inverter Window AC (shown) is up to 40% more energy-efficient than the Energy Star certification requirement, and achieves desired room temperature at sound levels as low as 44 decibels.
Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US
Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US introduces the Deluxe Wall-Mounted Single-Zone System with H2i plus technology. The system includes the new Deluxe Wall-Mounted Indoor Unit with Dual Barrier Coating and outdoor heat pump model with Hyper-Heating Inverter plus technology. According to Mitsubishi, the Deluxe Wall-Mounted System achieves high efficiency while responding to consumer demands.
Panasonic
Panasonic announced its new WhisperFit DC ventilation fan last year. The Energy Star-certified retrofit fan is built to remove air pollutants and reduce humidity to achieve optimal indoor air quality. It offers easy installation with a low-profile housing design to ensure a proper fit in any ceiling. The fan has settings for maximum moisture control and an adjustable LED light.
