Trainual is a cloud-based platform where we store our department information and processes in a central location that our employees can access at any time. We use it to enhance the efficiency of our onboarding process and improve our consistency as a company across all departments, from finance to sales to canvassing.
One example is when we hire a new salesperson. Our entire sales process has been uploaded to Trainual, along with videos on things like our physical window presentation and our heat lamp demo. This allows us to speed up the training process by eliminating repetition. Rather than having to give my window demonstration every single training session, I can update the window demo video on this platform once or twice each year.
We can see whether or not an employee has viewed all of the training materials, and we can generate a test to quiz them on the information we’ve asked them to review.
If an employee’s performance slips, they can log back in and retrain on their areas of weakness. We still use face-to-face training, but not every issue requires taking time out of a manager’s day.
Another big benefit is improved consistency from one employee to the next.
Using the sales example again, our process must be consistent from rep to rep to track the effectiveness of the process. Plus, if we get a referral from a homeowner and we send a new rep out to see them, their presentation needs to be the same as the last rep’s because that's what the customer expects. Trainual helps to ensure that everyone is following the same process.
