Simpson Strong-Tie Expands Outdoor Accents Essentials Collection

The Essentials collection is black-powder-coated and compatible with existing Outdoor Accents collections.

Simpson Strong-Tie has expanded its Outdoor Accents Essentials collection with a range of new black powder-coated structural connectors and fasteners for decks, fences, patio covers, and pergolas.

The new additions are built from ZMAX-galvanized steel for corrosion resistance and finished with a black powder coat for a clean architectural appearance. The lineup covers a broad range of structural connection needs and includes ten new connector types:

  • adjustable post caps (AC4PC/AC6PC) for 4x and 6x lumber
  • H1APC and H2.5APC hurricane ties for truss, rafter, and joist connections
  • L70PC/L90PC L-shaped reinforcing angles
  • an LCE4PC light post cap for beam-end-to-post connections
  • an LSCPC adjustable stringer connector that is field-slopeable and reversible
  • ML24PC/ML26PC medium angles with staggered fastener holes
  • an RPBPC retrofit post base that fits any post double 2×4 or larger
  • TA9PC/TA10PC staircase angles that connect stair treads to stringers without notching

Two new black double-barrier coated connector screws — standard and heavy-duty — round out the collection, available in hex-head and a new low-profile wafer-head option, both designed to drive without predrilling.

All new Essentials hardware is compatible with Simpson's existing Outdoor Accents Mission Collection, Avant Collection, and Sage System. Existing Outdoor Accents connectors at Home Depot range from roughly $2 to $50 per piece, depending on type, making them a much cheaper alternative to stainless steel. The new Essentials PC-series SKUs are a fresh expansion, and pricing may vary by retailer.
