Bison Innovative Products, in collaboration with DAP Global Inc., has launched the Level.Up Adjustable Deck Pedestal Joist Support System: a footing-free foundation solution for ground-level deck construction.

The system replaces traditional concrete footers and posts with telescoping engineered polymer pedestals that attach directly to wood joists. Each pedestal adjusts by hand twist from 2½ to 5½ inches in height and holds up to 750 lbs. Pedestals can be installed over compact soil, gravel, existing concrete slabs, or pavers without demolition. Slope compensation of up to 8% is achievable by stacking up to four included Slope Leveler components, each offsetting 2% of grade, beneath each pedestal.

The standard 12-Pedestal Kit builds an 8-ft. × 10-ft. deck using 2×6 nominal lumber. A 2-Pedestal Expansion Kit is available separately to add an additional joist or 16 inches of width. Other accessories sold separately include 1½-inch and 4-inch Height Adjustment Couplers, a ½-inch Fixed Height Pedestal, and Flexible Shims for fine-tuning.

All components except Flexible Shims carry a 10-year limited warranty. The 12-Pedestal Kit retails for $290.99 at Home Depot; the 2-Pedestal Expansion Kit is $65.84. Both are also available online and at select TAL Building Centers in the Pacific Northwest.
