Innovative Products: A Whole-Home Energy Monitoring System

Lighting and energy solutions brand Leviton makes its way further into the home energy management space through its latest Whole-Home Energy Monitor capabilities release.

Homeowners that use Leviton’s products, such as its Smart Circuit Breakers, Decora Smart Wi-Fi Lighting, and Evr-Green Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargers can now see the performance of all systems through a centralized location, the My Leviton app.

The new capability enhances homeowners’ insights into their energy use and offers money-saving features through these insights, such as the option to schedule breaker activity to benefit from reduced energy rate periods, remote capability to control circuit breakers, and automating turning off of non-essential loads.

The app also provides its users with automatic alerts and notifications for any unusual electrical activity, such as when and why a circuit trips, high or low voltage events, self-test breaker fails, appliances not running, or an HVAC system running too long, for example. Homeowners can create custom alerts for each circuit.

The app provides enhanced insights into costs over time as it monitors energy usage, providing homeowners with consumption data by day, week, billing period, and year-over-year stats.
