Smartphones, smart cars, smart homes—smart toilets? The idea is nothing new, as leading toilet manufacturers have explored the idea of incorporating “smart” functions into porcelain thrones (even Toto is working on a toilet that can be paired with an app, providing users with insights into their… waste). But Kohler says it has developed the “most advanced” smart toilet, the Numi 2.0.
Smart functions include water efficiency, personalized cleansing and drying, a heated seat, and, as I’m sure you need, built-in speakers. And wait! There’s more! Users can command the toilet through its built-in Amazon Alexa (Alexa, play “I Will Survive”).
The feature allows for much more than simply playing your favorite tunes on the toilet. It provides access to tens of thousands of skills, says Kohler. And of course, the toilet also connects to an app, Kohler Konnect.
Don’t worry about ever having to touch the toilet either. Its motion-activated open and close function controls both the seat and cover, and Numi 2.0 flushes on its own as well. You can flush it on your own if you really want, and the touch-button flush activation will work even when power is out, thanks to its emergency flush function.
Other cleanliness features include a built-in bidet with adjustable spray, position, pressure, and temperature, plus self-cleaning with UV light and electrolyzed water systems that clean the bidet wand after each use. The bowl itself even mists before use and offers an automatic deodorization system.
