Data on home tours and offers for more affordable homes from online listing agency Redfin showed a huge jump in the first few weeks of the year.
Home-tour demand hit an all-time record the week of Jan. 12. That week also saw the highest rate of first-timers touring since 2012. Moreover, December 2014 saw a 9.5 percent increase in new listings, more than any other December since 2008.
