Expanding their line of combination boilers, Noritz has released their new Noritz Residential Combination Boiler (NRCB). Performing at 95% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency), it allows for simultaneous residential hot water and space heating, a first in the industry.

NRCB meets the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s highest efficiency standards of “Energy Star Most Efficient” as a result of its fuel-saving performance, and is also Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certified. These qualities allow for homeowners to receive various state energy rebates.

The simultaneous ability to provide space heating and hot water is simply controlled, convenient, and especially beneficial for applications with inefficient heat storage/delivery. NRCB is also the industry’s first use of 316L austenite stainless steel primary and secondary heat exchangers, providing higher corrosion resistance and increased durability and lifespan.

The NRCB is available in two models:

  •       The NRCB180DV has a maximum gas input Btuh of 180,000 for hot water and 100,000 Btuh for space heating. Its maximum flow rate is 9.8 gallons per minute (gpm).
  •       The NRCB199DV has a maximum gas input Btuh of 199,000 for hot water and 120,000 Btuh for space heating. Its maximum flow rate is 11.1 gpm.

For its space heating capabilities, the NRCB has a temperature range of 80°F to 180°F (27°C to 82°C); for domestic hot water, the range is 90°F to 140°F (32°C to 60°C). The flow rates range from 9.8 gpm to 11.1 gpm and feature a flow control valve for consistent and precise temperature stability.

Additional features of the NRCB include:

  •        Ability to adjust to either PP or CPVC venting without programming changes needing to be made.
  •        Compatible with a recirculation loop without the need for accessory heat exchangers or controls.
  •        Compact and lighter than a traditional boiler, weighing less than 100 pounds.
  •        External pump controls, allowing for a secondary heat loop.
  •        Each part of the NRCB is assembled as an individual component, simplifying servicing and part replacement.
  •        Built-in sensor that measures outdoor temperatures.
  •        Compatible with Noritz Connect WiFi application, allowing for remote monitoring and adjustment from mobile devices.
  •       Fully modulating burner has a nitrogen-oxide emissions level of only 14 parts per million (ppm), exceeding South Coast Air Quality Management District requirement of 20 ppm.
  •          The premix burner optimizes the air/fuel ratio based on demand for better efficiency with fewer moving parts.
  •        Simple to wall mount with brackets that line up with the top of the unit.
