Swedish flooring brand Bolon has introduced Riff, a new collection of woven vinyl tiles that takes inspiration from the repetitious flow of a musical riff, creating a pattern that is both natural and precise. Using a 3D effect, Riff creates a shimmer through carefully curated light reflected across a palette of black, beige, and grey. The neutral colors are chosen to amplify the surrounding tones of the room and give designers the creativity to create contrasts and harmonies.
“In this concept, we want to showcase that rhythm by letting the communication unfold to a beat. Tempo, rhythm, flow, and pulse. Let’s interpret that energy and turn it into visuals—a modern, snappy, happy concept full of energy and emotion. On beat and on point,” Annica Eklund, Bolon chief creative officer, said in a news release.
Riff is available exclusively as a tiles-only collection and is simple to repair, reuse, and recycle. It performs just as well in both monolithic installations as well as quarter-turn layouts, which showcase the unique light-play qualities. There are 16 colorway options to choose from, and all products are sustainable and made from 68% waste materials with zero climate impact.
