The Aprilaire 400 whole-house humidifier's water delivery system incorporates a small float chamber, electronic water-level sensors and a wicking water panel. The float chamber eliminates the need for a reservoir, and the wicking water panel lets all the water in the unit be used during the evaporation process with virtually no standing water, the company says. In addition to using less water than drum-type humidifiers, model 400 has no motors, pumps or fans.
