Innovative Products: Armstrong Flooring TimberTones Densified Hardwood
AHF Products has announced Armstrong Flooring TimberTones Densified Hardwood, a flooring innovation made from 100% real hardwood, with an emphasis on extreme durability and environmental responsibility. The patented heat-and-pressure process densifies the veneer layer only by closing the open cells of the wood, giving the wood a much stronger performance while maintaining the authentic natural hardwood design.
The result of this process makes TimberTones six times more dent-resistant and four times more scratch-resistant than traditional hardwood flooring. It is effective on even soft woods, transforming hickory from its natural 1820 on the Janka Hardness Scale to an improved 3500.
TimberTones is designed for environments with lots of traffic, including retail spaces, restaurants, hotels, higher education facilities, corporate offices, and multi-family buildings. Taking wear resistance, waterproofing, and ease of maintenance into account, it offers 8-hour top-down waterproof protection and built-in antimicrobial surface technology, which helps in keeping the environments cleaner and minimizing upkeep.
TimberTones also supports biophilic design and enhances the connection between the interior environment and the natural world, with the authentic wood bringing a sense of tranquility to the space.
A FloorScore-certified and CARB TSCA Title VI-compliant product, with some of its lumber sourced from AHF Products’ own sawmills, TimberTones has a commitment to sustainability. It is also produced domestically, which reduces lead times, enhances flexibility, and supports American production.
