Safety: Heat-Exhaustion and Other Summertime Job-Site Hazards

If heat is causing you or your workers to experience “profuse sweating, dizziness, and more than a little discomfort, it’s time to get out of the sun,” Construction Dive reports.

Every crew has their own way of coping with heat while working. One Houston road worker suggests wearing long sleeves and pants, preventing the sun from scorching the skin.

Another tip comes from a North Dakota saw operator, whose crew stretches the usual three breaks per day to six on especially hot days, and all the breaks must be in the shade.
