Gallup Poll Maps Out Household Formation Trends

Fewer young people say I do – to any relationship, a recent study by Gallup found. This means the percentage of American 20-somethings who are married is declining, while the number of those living together has hardly budged.

Meanwhile, the increase in a single lifestyle is less sharp for 30-somethings. Though the percentage of marriage for 30-somethings has declined about 10 percentage points, the percentage living together has increased significantly.
