Personnel: Cyberattack Affected 1.1 Million Insured by CareFirst

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, one of the largest health insurers in the U.S., disclosed that it fell victim to a cyberattack that affected about 1.1 million people. Computer World reports.

This makes CareFirst the third large health insurer in the country this year to disclose its data breach.

Medical records are increasingly sought by hackers, who may use the information for fraud or nation-state spying.
