A group of researchers in Spain has developed a new, high-performance acoustic insulation material made out of the trimmings of orange trees.
Gizmag.com reports that the new material is “an improvement in terms of acoustic insulation compared to conventional laminated gypsum boards.”
But companies interested in manufacturing and distributing the product still need to assess costs and look into methods to automate the production processes. When the product will be on the market is still up in the air.
