Homes will get a little smaller and home technology will become more prevalent as Millennials enter the housing market, a panelist said during the International Builders’ Show.
A survey on Millennials conducted by the NAHB found that a separate laundry room topped the age group’s wish-list, with 55 percent responding that they wouldn’t buy a new home that didn’t have one. Storage space such as linen closets and a walk-in pantry also made the top 10 list. Moreover, Millennials are willing to pay 2-3 percent more for energy efficiency as long as they can see a return on their power bills.
