Home improvement spending growth will decelerate by 4.7 percentage points between the first and third quarters.
Expect a softening of home improvement spending, says a study from Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies. Using their Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA), analysts project home improvement spending will decelerate from 6.3 percent in the first quarter of 2015 to 1.6 percent in the third.
