Buyers are willing to pay, on average, $4 per watt of solar energy installed on their homes, Realtor Mag reports.
In other words, buyers will pay an average of $15,000 for a standard 3.75 kW photovoltaic energy system on a home. This is based on a new study by the Energy Markets and Policy Group titled “Selling into the Sun: Price Premiums Anaylsis of a Multi-State Dataset of Solar Homes.” The finding was based on an analysis of buyers across states, housing types, and housing markets.
