Following a successful launch in 2013, Duravit USA, Inc. has announced its second annual Designer Dream Bath Competition. The program invites architects and designers to imagine their ideal bath space using a selection of Duravit collections, which include Vero, DuraStyle, and Happy D.2. Participants are asked to use their own bathroom as a basis for their designs, and must submit a rendering or sketch illustrating the potential transformation with the implementation of Duravit products. The winner will be awarded the Duravit items used in his or her project up to a value of $15,000.
"We were excited by the success of our first competition, so we are pleased to bring it back for 2014," says Duravit USA President Tim Schroeder. "Not only does the competition help a designer's dream become a reality, but it also brings the Duravit brand closer to home as they get to know our aesthetic and understand the scope of application with our products."
The straightforward entry process asks designers to submit two views minimum (rendering or sketch and floor plan) and a "before" image, as well as a brief submission form including challenges, objectives, and project details.
2014 submissions may pull from the following collections:
Vero: A long-time favorite ceramics line, Duravit has enhanced its Vero program with the addition of furniture. Vero, stemming from the word for "truth," represents a pure design and sleek rectangular shape with an edge of modernity. Special features include LED lighting, Bluetooth integration, front-facing towel racks, and six sleek finish options.
DuraStyle: The Matteo Thun-designed DuraStyle series embraces a visual lightness and clean aesthetic, all while allowing for innumerable custom combinations through its comprehensive range of washbasins, mirrors, bidets, furniture, bathtubs, and innovative new rimless toilets. DuraStyle's tremendous versatility can adapt to any taste and any space.
Happy D.2: Created by Sieger Design, Happy D.2 showcases the signature Duravit "D" shape in its soft-lined ceramics and bathtubs. A new linen furniture finish and gentle LED illuminated mirror cabinets with integrated Sound System round out the collection, which offers 13 bathtubs, 12 washbasins, and fresh styles for toilets, bidets, and cabinets. Happy D.2 introduces a modern, elegant update to its original counterpart.
