Met Home Covers Remodeling

Oct. 2, 1999
The September/October issue of Metropolitan Home, a consumer magazine perused by owners of all types of homes, focuses on home renovation. Chock full of gorgeous remodels ranging from a 1906 Craftsman home in Seattle to a Connecticut ranch redo, the magazine shines the spotlight on the industry. But perhaps remodeling’s greatest endorsement comes by way of the magazine’s editorial, written by Donna Warner, the magazine’s editor in chief. In her commentary, Warner cites Roper Starch, a national research company that estimates one-third of all Americans had work done on their homes last year--her house included. Despite a lengthy bathroom remodeling project (the 929-foot room took almost a year) and a few mishaps along the way, she sings the praises of her newly remodeled room. "The room is pure magic: Every single detail is totally beautiful," she writes. "Next time I’ll be still more ‘realistic,’ but equally hopeful. Because for me the miracle of a perfect room is still worth waiting for." Ah...if only all homeowners would adopt this attitude.
