Remodeler Patrick Franz filming for HGTV’s "New Spaces."

Remodeling and do-it-yourself television programs continue to grow in popularity with homeowners. Although an appearance on a show can boost a remodeler’s profile in his or her market and can be used as an effective marketing tool, competition to be featured runs high. To attract the attention of show producers, Jennifer Fair with HGTV says it’s important that submissions be as show-specific as possible. To submit a project to an HGTV show, contact (865) 560-3865. Here’s some of HGTV’s more popular television broadcasts.

21st Century Home: A cutting edge weekly series that showcases high-tech homes and highlights energy-saving building materials and products.

Before & After: Presents a whole-house remodeling project from start to finish. Shows highlights of the construction process followed by a "before and after" tour of the finished home.

New Spaces: Covers a complete room remodel or addition from start to finish. Each show highlights specific design challenges and offers problem-solving tips.
