Attracting Millennials: The truth is, millennials want to be paid, so you need to be competitive. But it’s more than that, which is something a lot of people don’t get. Millennials want security. They want benefits, paid vacation, and to be part of something bigger than a job. We keep a fund going so we can offer bad weather pay, because sometimes Mother Nature keeps us from working. We’ve also instituted a merit-based, quarterly bonus system, so if someone performs particularly well, there is tangible recognition.
