Remodeling business coach Ron Preston poses the question: How ethical is it to market a freebie in our service when the cost for it was recouped by something else in the final transaction?
"As designers we need to realize that no sale is really complete until a successful installation of product or service has been provided for the paying, trusting client," Preston writes.
He offers other considerations that remodelers, designers, and contractors should think about when it comes to honesty in the trade. For example, Preston advises designers against feeding "the greedy price shopper mentality."
