Professional accomplishment: I’m very close to becoming a licensed architect. I’ve passed five out of six exams and it’s one of my main professional accomplishments. Being on this path has helped me gain knowledge of all aspects of design and construction, which I’m able to use for my projects now. I’m also able to help others who want to pursue the path to licensure.

Impactful technology: I played a vital role in making our drawings more user friendly. Design-build companies have clients, trade partners, project managers, and carpenters all using the drawings. Each of those requires different information, and I helped streamline it all on Vectorworks so its easy to read.

Advice for young professionals: Keep an eye on details and understand how it will be built because these are key factors for a successful project. Always challenge yourself and keep trying to be a better designer with each project and each client meeting. Put effort into increasing knowledge of latest trends in remodeling industry.
