At 1 1/2 inches thick, Timberlast composite decking is especially suited for applications in which space limitations do not allow the installation of 2-inch-thick vinyl deck boards, the company says. It will not rot, rust or corrode, won't need scraping or painting, and is impervious to insects. The planks can be installed using 16-inch joist spans, even if installed at an angle, and their surface has a brushed texture to prevent slipping.
