Silver Shield is a multilayer radiant barrier system for attics. It reduces heat transfer from the roof by as much as 97% and attic temperatures by up to 30 degrees, the company says. The product's inside layer is metalized PVC. The outer layer is aluminum foil laminated with a fire-retardant adhesive and reinforced with a tri-directional fiberglass and polyester scrim.
