Why Custom Railings Are a Wise Investment

October 17, 2016

Because tight budgets are a reality on most construction projects, a custom railing system might be scrutinized for its overall value and importance to a home.

“Every project has a budget, and on most of them, the budget is a bit lower than the spec or what the client wants, so it’s always a dance,” says Brian Abramson, Co-Founder, Method Homes in Seattle. “But long-term durability is always a consideration, so it’s worth spending more upfront for something that’s going to last forever.”

If you think about it, exterior and interior railings are among the most visible parts of a house. More than just decorative elements, they are functional artwork. Neighbors will admire an outside deck and everyone who walks into the home will want to rub their hands along the railing, so it’s an opportunity to really do something special that also serves a functional purpose.
