Marc Hueber: Into the Future

Making the goal of positioning John Hueber Homes as Cincinnati’s premier green builder a reality

By By Laurie Batter, with Professional Remodeler Staff July 13, 2015
Marc Hueber, Owner/Project Manager of John Hueber Homes, in Loveland, Ohio, 2015 Professional Remodeler 40 Under 40 awardee

Owner/Project Manager

John Hueber Homes, Loveland, Ohio

Age 34

A few years ago, Cincinnati passed tax abatements for LEED homes, and Marc jumped onboard. Soon, an invitation came to help redevelop a dilapidated area containing one of the largest collections of Italianate architecture in the country. Today, the neighborhood has been transformed from crumbling buildings to restored single-family, LEED-certified residences, and Marc is a local hero. He has shown professionalism and leadership to the workers, the politicians, and the people of the community. He is on a first-name basis with the mayor, as well as with the homeless vets on the street.

With more than 30 LEED-certified projects, Marc’s push to position John Hueber Homes as Cincinnati’s premier green builder is becoming a reality. His efforts helped the company win the 2014 Cincinnati Preservation Association Rehabilitation Award, and the specialized work done by Marc and his team is responsible for nearly 50 percent of the company’s business.

A hands-on leader who encourages collaboration and insists on clear communication with clients, Marc places a high value on cultivating a solid team of dedicated workers and encourages his team to continue learning by taking courses to deepen their knowledge or by challenging themselves to take on new responsibilities.
