Let artificial intelligence do the work

This article first appeared in the January/February 2024 issue of Pro Remodeler.

Content creation can be a valuable marketing strategy and branding tool for contractors—when done correctly. However, contractors’ interest often dies when bandwidth for creating high-quality content is limited.

Not only is there an AI tool for that—there are about 100 (If you enjoy playing around with new tools, check out FutureTools.io for a directory on new AI programs).

To lessen the burden, I’ve rounded up a variety of programs that promise to make your life easier, your content higher quality, and, hopefully, as a result, your digital leads stronger.

4 AI Content Tools

descript ai content tool
A snippet of the Descript interface. The audio produces a nearly perfect transcription to edit off of, while providing video editing tools, automatic captions, among others. The free version is perfect for those editing audio only, or if you don't mind a watermarked video.

Descript

Pricing: Free version, one hour/month; $12/month; $24/month

What it does: Descript allows users to work through audio transcriptions to edit videos or podcasts. You can cut, splice, and review content fast with a smooth result.

Users can import an existing video or record directly in Descript, which is cloud-backed and does not limit video quality. It improves sound and offers an AI voice tool that sounds like you. You can lightly edit the video too, creating short-form Reels or TikToks with automatic captions.

My favorite part: The AI filler word removal allows you to eliminate “ums,” “uhs,” and “like,” with one click, plus the transcription is 99% accurate.

narrato ai content tools
Narrato offers dozens of templates for a variety of content types, including social media posts, product descriptions, Google Ad copy, in addition to tools such as spell and grammar check, and simplifying text. Users can directly post to their website (if hosted on Wordpress) or social media feeds. The above copy was created for Instagram using just the URL of this article. Users can select a tone from a drop-down list and request different versions.

Narrato

Pricing: Free week trial; $48/month; $98/month; custom for more or less features

What it does: Narrato is a social media manager and content-creating tool for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but it can create dozens of content types. Narrato utilizes its AI to produce social media captions based on text, documents, videos, webpages, newsletters, and more, but also has ChatGPT built in as an added tool. Narrato creates a workspace to collaborate, assign tasks, and track efforts. It’s simple and fast but robust.

My favorite part: There are numerous AI-powered social media management tools out there, but Narrato will create content meeting your every request, rather than producing several posts that aren’t quite right, which is what I experienced with other AI programs.

riverside.fm ai content tools
Riverside offers a similar audio and video editing portal that Descript does with an editable transcript. Riverside categorizes sections of a video based on the topic of conversation and includes caption, background, logo, and layout tools. Its AI features will automatically remove silences, if requested, and will create Magic Clips, or short-form videos based off longer videos by automatically selecting impactful portions of a conversation.

Riverside.fm

Pricing: Free with two hours; $15/month; $24/month

What it does: Creates high quality podcasts, videos, and social media clips. Riverside users can import or directly record calls through its online studio, and the great part of the latter is that it records both cameras on the computer instead of over the internet, meaning you receive the highest quality recording possible. You can also edit it through its transcription, similar to Descript.

My favorite part: Riverside’s AI does the work to create short clips from videos. It offers options, plus I love how it goes the extra mile to create a description for your video.

Adobe Audio Enhancer

Pricing: Free; Free trial on additional tools for 30 days

What it does: Adobe’s AI Podcast tool is currently in beta mode, which is why this feature is free. You can also use its free for 30 days Mic Check feature to adjust your audio quality before recording. This tool will help with video audio if you export audio.

My favorite part: You can adjust the strength of the audio enhancement to maintain environmental sound with a 30-day free trial.
