With a new year here, now can be an ideal time to set goals for the next 12 months—but creating actionable goals to hold you and your team accountable to takes extra planning.
Industry expert Mark Richardson breaks down business goal identification into three levels and provides insight into creating achievable goals and the priorities that guide them (and it's not about numbers).
Listen to hear Richardson's considerations for breaking down your business goals into 12 month, three month, and 30-day cycles.
"Just like a pilot who's flying from Washington D.C. to L.A., he's making literally hundreds of little amendments along that flight to address air traffic control, weather, air speed—all those kind of things so, in fact, he can accomplish the goal and get to where he needs to be," says Richardson. "That 30-day plan needs to be very explicit, but you need to be flexible enough on a daily basis to tweak and adjust as you go."
