Best practice: Insights gained from her experience with DISC assessments have provided techniques that Samantha uses in nearly every sales call. She says she “morphs” her personality to blend with whichever of the four DISC types (Dominant, Inspiring, Supportive, Cautious) her client represents. If she recognizes a “D,” especially if it’s a man, Samantha knows she has to stand her ground and exude confidence. She won’t talk about feelings or how things look, instead she’ll get to the point. “As a younger woman, those are the hardest for me,” she says. An I-type is high energy, while C-types are engineers and accountants. With those clients, she takes extra care to flesh out every detail.
