Remodeling Spending Down for 2014

Home improvement spending hit an unexpected slump for 2014.

The demand for remodeling is based on the rate of single-family existing home sales. “Buyers of an existing home are likely to spend on average more than $1,800 on property alterations during the first year of homeownership compared to non-moving homeowners,” says Natalia Siniavskaia at the NAHB.
