Owner
LCP General Contractors, Fairfield, Conn.
Age 38
2015 Revenue: $1 million
Best practice: In the past, LCP’s projects were scattered across 20 miles, but high gas prices and increased traffic convinced Lucas to make a change. Today, most of his jobs are within a 5-mile radius, allowing for greater efficiency. Lucas accomplished this by advertising in two local magazines and on social media. A mom’s club on Facebook has been a special help since when members reach out for recommendations, a high percentage of responses mention his company. He’s also active with the Chamber of Commerce and sponsors a kids’ concert and summer movie night at the beach. LCP’s trucks feature large logos and tend to make an impression on homeowners since they’re all driving around the same area.
