Hansgrohe+Axor Launch First-Ever Design Competition

Celebrating design excellence in projects featuring Hansgrohe and Axor products.

Hansgrohe+Axor Launch First-Ever Design Competition

Hansgrohe Inc. announced a nationwide call for entries for the inaugural Hansgrohe+Axor Das Design Competition. With a range of product lines that cover the classic to the cutting-edge, the Hansgrohe and Axor brands are synonymous with excellence in design, sustainability and installation. The Das Design Competition celebrates these qualities in various contexts through real-world projects. Hansgrohe invites architects and interior designers across the U.S. to enter recent projects that thoughtfully incorporate Hansgrohe and Axor products to create innovative or inspiring environments, from hotel and restaurant bathrooms to private kitchens and baths, and more.

According to Hansgrohe USA President Erik Christensen, “We are extremely excited to launch a national design competition and add a new chapter to our subsidiary’s rich history. Das Design was developed to recognize our valued industry partners and celebrate the ways in which their work enhances two of the most important spaces in any project—the kitchen and the bath.”

The competition is open to projects that were built in the U.S. within the past three years (between January 1, 2011 and September 1, 2014). There are four categories of entry: Residential, Hospitality, Commercial, and Multi-Housing/High-Rise.

The jury will consist of leading A&D industry professionals and media as well as representatives from Hansgrohe/Axor. Entries will be evaluated against five criteria: the quality of the overall design of the project and the integration of Hansgrohe or Axor products into the scheme; the degree that Hansgrohe/Axor products enhance the design and functionality of the space; the consideration of the environment and sustainability in the design; the quality of installation; and the extent of use of Hansgrohe/Axor products.

The Winners of each category will receive a round trip to Germany—home of Hansgrohe and Axor—plus three-night hotel accommodation to be part of a delegation attending ISH, the world’s largest trade show for the combination of water and energy in building solutions, in Frankfurt in March 2015. There will also be up to three Honorable Mentions awarded in each category.

Entry is free and can be done completely online at www.dasdesigncomp.com. Entrants will be required to include brief descriptions about their project including their selection and integration of Hansgrohe/Axor products, and attach at least two images of their project.

Entry deadline: Tuesday September 2, 2014.

Winners will be announced at a celebration event at Axor NYC Design Studio in New York in October 2014, and the winning entries will featured in the online competition gallery and on Hansgrohe USA’s social media channels.

Visit the Hansgrohe+Axor Das Design Competition website www.dasdesigncomp.com for full details on the competition, rules, and entry form. PR
