Remodel/America

With RemodelAmerica scheduled for this month, we asked remodeler Jim Strite, CR, CGR, president of Design + Remodel, Boise, Idaho, about trade show attendance.

Q. How do you prepare to attend a tradeshow?

A. We have general staff meetings on a weekly basis, and we’ve been discussing the Las Vegas show for at least 90 days. We just received the agenda, and we’ll discuss who is going to attend what. We send as many people from the company as possible, because it’s just a very rewarding environment to be with others who work in your field.

Q. What’s the most important thing for you to do while at RemodelAmerica or any tradeshow?

A. I’m the vice president of NARI Region Six, so I’ll be in board meetings; that’s the most significant for me. For the team players, I think the seminars--followed by the trade show--are most important. It gives them the opportunity to discuss new product availability, and if they have challenges with particular products, they can voice their opinions.

Q. What do you plan to do for fun in Vegas?

A. I’ll be talking shop with the attendees and possibly taking in a show.
