According to Jobs Rated Almanac, six of the 30 worst jobs in the United States are construction-related. Jobs are ranked using five major criteria: physical demands, stress, security, outlook and job description. Wages were not considered.

The six construction jobs and their slots on the list of the worst jobs are:

  • Construction laborers (No. 5)
  • Roofers (No. 7)
  • Carpenters (No. 17)
  • Glaziers (No. 21)
  • Drywall installers (No. 22)
  • Plumbers (No. 28)

The only building-related jobs on the list of the best jobs were architects (No. 16) and engineers (No. 24).
